Volunteer Position: Scout Tour Ambassador

Position Overview:
Are you passionate about civic engagement and inspiring the next generation? The City of Fishers is looking for enthusiastic Tour Ambassadors to lead local Girl Scout and Scouts of America (BSA) troops through the Fishers Municipal Complex. As a Tour Ambassador, you will serve as the primary host for visiting scouts as they explore the inner workings of local government. You will help them navigate City Hall, the Fishers Art Center, and the Police and Fire Departments, ensuring they have an educational and memorable experience while working toward badges in public safety, first aid, and citizenship.
Key Responsibilities
- Warm Welcome: Greet scout troops, leaders, and parents upon arrival at the Municipal Complex with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Group Leadership: Lead and transition scout groups between various tour stops, including the City Hall Theater, Police Department, and Fire Department.
- Crowd Management: Ensure all participants stay together and remain safe while moving through municipal buildings.
- Engagement: Answer basic questions about the City of Fishers and the Municipal Complex, fostering a positive environment for the youth.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Friendly & Outgoing: Must be comfortable interacting with youth and large groups of parents/leaders.
- Reliability: Punctuality is essential, as scout tours are scheduled for specific registration dates.
- Physical Ability: Must be comfortable standing and walking for the duration of the 1.5-hour tour.
- Background Check: Volunteers may be required to complete a standard city volunteer background check and orientation.
