Do you enjoy reading and spending time with children? The Fishers Community Center Child Care Center is looking for friendly volunteers to share the joy of reading with our youngest learners! Volunteers will visit classrooms and read a couple of age-appropriate stories to children ages 2–8. This opportunity helps encourage literacy, imagination, and a love of books in a fun and welcoming environment.
Responsibilities:
- Visit classrooms within the Child Care Center
- Read 1–2 stories to small groups of children
- Engage children through storytelling, conversation, and enthusiasm
- Help create a positive and encouraging experience for young readers
Ideal Volunteer:
- Enjoys working with young children
- Friendly, patient, and dependable
- Comfortable reading aloud to groups
- Able to interact positively with children of varying ages and attention spans
