Who We Are
The Actuarial Foundation encourages mathematical thinkers by offering free math tutoring to students in grades 3-12 through Math Motivators.
The mission of the Math Motivators program is to help close the opportunity gap by providing a volunteer-driven math tutoring program that pairs underserved middle and high school students with professionals and college students with strong math backgrounds.
What We Do
The Foundation's resources give people valuable knowledge and insight to empower them to make more informed decisions.
The goal is to enhance math education for middle school and high school students who do not otherwise have access to tutors. Tutoring services are needed now, more than ever, and Math Motivators is ready to help.
During the 2022-2023 school year, 523 tutors volunteered 17,195 hours of their time to help students succeed.
Our free curriculum resources— Expect the Unexpected with Math—give teachers and students new reasons to be excited and confident about mathematics and include hands-on projects, lesson plans and online activities. Our Modeling the Future Challenge provides high school students a glimpse into math modeling and the actuarial process. Our Building Your Future financial literacy program teaches students the ins and outs of managing their money. And The Hardest Math Problem Student Contest challenges middle school students to solve real-world problems.
