Volunteer Opportunities From: Volunteer Fishers

Do you enjoy reading and spending time with children? The Fishers Community Center Child Care Center is looking for friendly volunteers to share the joy of reading with our youngest learners! Volunteers will visit classrooms and read a couple of age-appropriate stories to children ages 2–8. This opportunity helps encourage literacy, imagination, and a love of books in a fun and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities:

   Visit classrooms within the Child Care Center Read 1–2 stories to small groups of children Engage children through storytelling, conversation, and enthusiasm Help create a positive and encouraging experience for young readers

Ideal Volunteer:

   Enjoys working with young children Friendly, patient, and dependable Comfortable reading aloud to groups Able to interact positively with children of varying ages and attention spans

Join our welcoming team at the Fishers Community Center as a Greeter/Ambassador! Volunteers in this role are the friendly faces that help create a warm and inviting atmosphere for all who walk through our doors. You’ll assist members with check-in, provide general guidance, and help ensure everyone feels at home.

Responsibilities:

Greet members and guests with a smile and positive attitudeAnswer basic questions and direct visitors to appropriate areasSupport staff with light administrative tasks as neededLead guided tours of the facility

Friendly and approachable demeanorComfortable interacting with people of all ages and backgroundsReliability and punctuality

Time Commitment: Ideally, volunteers commit to one consistent shift per week to help build rapport with members and maintain continuity. Shifts are available throughout the week. All volunteers will receive training to ensure they feel confident and prepared. Why Volunteer?
