Location: Fishers Community Center Commitment: Minimum one shift per week Age Requirement: Must be 18 or older

Make a Difference in Your Community! The Fishers Health Department is seeking friendly, reliable volunteers to serve as Greeters at our new location inside the Fishers Community Center. This is a meaningful opportunity to support public health efforts and connect with residents in a welcoming environment. 

You'll be the first point of contact for visitors. Your responsibilities will include:

Staffing the front desk during assigned shiftsWelcoming and directing residentsAssisting with general questions and appointment schedulingSupporting staff with light administrative tasks

Training Provided.  All volunteers will receive training in:

HIPAA complianceNarcan administrationGeneral orientation and role-specific guidance

Volunteer Commitment Due to the nature of this role, we ask volunteers to commit to at least one shift per week to ensure consistent support for our residents and staff. The Fishers Health Department is seeking dedicated volunteers to assist with translating vaccination records written in languages other than English—specifically Kurdish and Arabic. This vital work helps our clinical team determine which immunizations are still needed for patients and ensures accurate public health documentation.

Responsibilities:Translate vaccination records from Kurdish or Arabic into EnglishCollaborate with Health Department staff to clarify medical terminologyMaintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelinesRequirements: Proficiency in Kurdish or Arabic (written and verbal)Medical or clinical background (e.g., nursing, public health, medical assistant, etc.)Completion of HIPAA training (provided if needed)Ability to work independently and with attention to detail
