Volunteers are a crucial part of our Camp To Belong Indiana programming; volunteers support our programming by providing supervision and care to our campers during the week of camp. Additionally, counselors can help siblings create positive memories and build better relationships. Being a counselor means dedicating just one week of your life to provide a safe, fun, and supportive environment for foster youth in our community. Volunteers do not have to have previous experience with children, but do have to complete a background check, references, and attend a training led by Camp To Belong. Please contact Becky Moore via email for more information. Agency: Camp to Belong Indiana If you have a heart for youth and the outdoors, Camp To Belong Indiana is the perfect place for you! Volunteer: I Support The Girls Volunteer
Volunteers are the backbone of our organization. Besides those who volunteer to conduct drives and collections, volunteers are involved in many of the behind-the-scenes aspects of I Support the Girls. Some of our volunteers are involved in research projects and some are conducting studies. We have volunteers who spend a few minutes on the phone each day, helping us gather information which we use in our fundraising, marketing and advocacy efforts.
And yes, we have hundreds of volunteers yearly who take time to sort through thousands of products covering the living room floor of our affiliate heads homes! Without their help, we would be unable to deliver millions of products each year to those in need. Please email Rachael Heger to learn more and to get involved.

You use your experience of living with a mental illness or your experience as a loved one or caregiver of someone living with a mental illness to provide support, education, or awareness to your neighbors. Volunteers are trained to lead a program and are asked to make a commitment to provide that program in the community. You can volunteer with your local affiliate, or start programming in a community that does not have an affiliate. Training is provided free through the NAMI Indiana state office. Below are the current programs provided through NAMI and NAMI Indiana. If you are interested in getting started or if you'd like more information, please email info@namiindiana.org. NAMI Family Support Group Facilitator: NAMI Family support group facilitators lead our family support groups for families and friends of people who are living with a mental illness. Volunteers receive training through the hospitals and NAMI Indiana. Public Policy Committee: Our public policy committee keeps the legislative process in their sight.
