The Fishers Health Department (FHD) is seeking volunteers to assist with the FHD booth at the Fishers Farmers Market.  Volunteers will assist with set up, tear down, help man the booth by providing materials and resources to shoppers. Ranked one of the top farmers’ markets in the region, the Fishers Farmers’ Market showcases vendors from Central Indiana that offer fresh produce, baked goods, honey, specialty food items, meats, cheeses, coffee, plants, and much more! Juried to the strictest standards, the market is a destination for fresh, local, flavorful foods direct from farmers and producers. Volunteers must be 14 years old or older. Thank you.

This opportunity entails serving lunch to our neighbors at a designated site in Noblesville every Friday. We will serve at one site for approximately 2 hours.

Each day, Wheeler Mission is blessed with a large amount of donations. The best of our donations go directly to needs at our shelters.  Others new and gently used items are sold to the community, the Store helps fund life-changing programs. Volunteers sort and organize donations alongside staff members and other volunteers.

Join the Fishers AgriPark team as a Field Guide Volunteer. Roberts Settlement will be doing a Legacy Walk garden installation on May 20-22. The project is being led by Andrew Marrs, a fabulous landscape architect based in Bloomington. Summer at the Center for Women and Children means Summer Camp. For ten weeks, school-aged children who stay at the Center for Women and Children will attend summer camp and will have the opportunity to participate in various field trips. We will rely on sack lunches to feed the children while they are on these trips.

We are looking for groups or individuals to donate these lunches.

Lunches will be delivered on Monday mornings before 10 am if possible.

SERVE Village, along with Armstrong Accounting Solutions, is hosting our 4th annual LONGEST Table event for local nonprofit boards and staff members on Wednesday, May 20 from 12 pm-1 pm at Seminary Park.

We are looking for volunteers to help with event set-up and tear down.

Set up will start at 10am at The Gathering House (meet in the alley by the garage) where we will load chairs, tables, and supplies into a box truck. Then we will unload and set-up tables, a catering table, the SERVE backdrop, and check-in table.

Tear down will begin after the event (approx 1pm) and should be done by 2pm.

Lunch is included for all volunteers!

This is a fun and rewarding way to support runners and be part of an exciting community event.

SERVE Village is partnering with Hero Hut as they host their hospitality event at the Carmel Marathon. Hero Hut exists so every American Veteran can feel a sense of connectedness, support and hope after service.

There are estimated to be over 6,000 runners at the 16th Carmel Marathon this year. It is the second largest marathon in Indiana and a top qualifying event for the Boston Marathon. Please join us on Sunday, May 31st as we provide 2000+ meals and Veteran resources/activation space.

2 shifts: 7-10am and 9:30am-1pm

Each shift will need:

*5 cooks - we'll be making pancakes on griddles and sausage

*20 General volunteers to help as needed with the event, directing people, cleaning up tables, being a "gopher" for things on site, etc. 

There is plenty of free parking within a short walk of the start/finish line. The best place to park is in one of the nearby garages.

If you or someone you know is a loved one of an individual with mental illness, this is a great opportunity to give back & help other families.

Through comprehensive training and the power of lived experience, our volunteers provide active listening, empathy, and support as families and individuals navigate their mental health journeys. Volunteers are asked to complete an application, a NAMI Indiana screening call, complete 8 hours of hybrid training, and fulfill a background check.

As the city continues to grow, we host a variety of guests who want to go "behind the scenes" of local government. Running for Real Estate is seeking course marshal volunteers for the Strides for Shelter 5K on Saturday, June 13 at Witten Park, 13256 Saxony Blvd. Volunteers are needed from 7:30 - 9:15 a.m. Join the fun and help cheer on runners and point them in the right direction. 

We need YOUR help to make sure sack lunches are supplied for our guests. Sack lunches typically supplement our hot meals and are a huge help to our Kitchen Staff! This is a great way to help Wheeler Mission offsite!

What goes in the Sack Lunch?: Lunches should include

We DO have the ability to refrigerate so things like string cheese would be great, too. Please prepare in a brown lunch sack with the date listed on the outside of the bag in Sharpie marker.

This opportunity is off-site, not at a Wheeler Mission facility. We prefer lunches to be prepared in a commercial kitchen. If that is not possible, we ask that you strongly follow the guidelines listed below:

Where should I bring the lunches?: You can bring them to the Men's Residential Center @ 245 N. Delaware St., Indianapolis, IN 46204. The drop-off entrance is accessible from the alley between the building and the small parking lot. Follow the donation signs! Park near the back doors, ring the doorbell and Staff will assist you in unloading your vehicle.

When should I bring the lunches?: You'll sign up for a shift that's from 9 am-10 am, but that's just a placeholder! You can bring them any time between 9 am-5 pm.

What if I can only provide some of what's requested?: If you are able to bring at least half, please sign up for the shift as usual. If you can bring less than half, please plan to come, but leave the shift open for others to sign up, too!

Where can I find a commercial kitchen? Most local churches have a commercial kitchen! If you don't have access to one, reach out to a Volunteer Engagement Manager to use our kitchen.

Winter Contingency Monitors play a crucial frontline role at Wheeler Mission—Bloomington in ensuring that our neighbors experiencing homelessness have a safe, warm, and welcoming environment during the coldest months of the year. Join the Fishers AgriPark team as a Guest Services Volunteer. Volunteers will be protected under the AgriPark tent, and will greet attendees, distribute produce boxes, and answer questions about the farm, produce, and livestock.  Volunteers will be provided with a list of commonly asked questions and answers.  Volunteers under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult with an active volunteer profile. Not to exceed two volunteer shifts per day. 

A 33-acre urban farm and one of the city’s most unique assets, the Fishers AgriPark (11171 Florida Road) is one of the nation’s largest urban farms and pays homage to Fishers’ agricultural roots. Every year, May through October, residents are invited to the AgriPark for u-pick opportunities in the public fields and gardens, animal encounters, and special programming. Each day, Wheeler Mission is blessed with a large amount of donations. The best of our donations go directly to needs at our shelters.  Others new and gently used items are sold to the community, the Store helps fund life-changing programs. Volunteers sort and organize donations alongside staff members and other volunteers.

Would you like an ongoing volunteer opportunity that will foster relationships and connect with Fishers youth? We are seeking dedicated volunteers who are available to assist with student local government study trips at the new Fishers Municipal Complex.  Due to the nature of this opportunity, we are asking volunteers to commit to at least 10 of the 20 sessions.

Volunteers will assist with navigating students to their proper location, keep our presenters on time, guide students through activities, distribute supplies, and help answer general questions. Training will be provided.
